Phillip Keveren, Arranger
A multi-talented keyboard artist and composer, Phillip Keveren displays a tremendous versatility in both his original works and concert performances. He composes in a variety of genres, and is widely acclaimed for his piano publications. Phillip is a prolific arranger, orchestrator, and producer. His work is featured in numerous instrumental recordings, church choral, educational piano, and Christian artist releases (Steve Green, Travis Cottrell, Larnelle Harris, Sandi Patty, Mandisa, Jeremy Camp, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir). Phillip is co-author, major composer and orchestrator of the internationally acclaimed Hal Leonard Student Piano Library, a complete method of study for young students. His unique piano arrangements are also featured in The Phillip Keveren Series (Hal Leonard Publishing). Phillip holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Southern California.
Amanda Key, Soprano
Amanda Key is known for her "wonderful light lyric voice with a smashing top." The American soprano graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. After she finished her master’s degree at the Conservatory in Amsterdam, she co-founded and was named artistic director of a Dutch opera company called B.O.O.M! Bold Opera on the Move. Amanda was blessed to sing in 11 different countries while living and working in Europe for 12 years. She has performed various opera roles in productions such as Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Cosi fan tutte (Despina), Rigoletto (Gilda), Die Zauberflöte (Königin der Nacht), and has performed as a soloist in more than 200 cathedrals throughout the Netherlands and Belgium, including repertoire from The Messiah by Handel, Ein deutsches Requiem by Brahms, and the Requiem by Mozart. Amanda also performed as a Beethoven Award finalist with the North Czech Philharmonic at the world-famous Smetana Hall, Prague Municipal House.
Gerald Dolter, Baritone
Gerald Dolter (with degrees from Indiana University) began his professional singing career in the opera houses and concert halls of the United States and Europe. Opern Welt magazine has described his performances as “radiant,” by the Frankfurter Rundschauas “powerful baritonal presence,” and by England's Opera magazine as “electrifying.” His operatic credits include appearances with the Pittsburgh, New Jersey State, Tulsa, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Arizona opera companies, as well as the opera companies of Frankfurt, Mannheim, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, Krefeld, and Montpellier. From 1985 to 1991, Gerald was the leading baritone with Germany's Bremen Opera. His repertoire there included such diverse characterizations as Germont in La Traviata, Escamillo in Carmen, and Nick Shadow in The Rake's Progress. His operatic repertoire includes more than 87 charaterizations and 40 leading roles in musical theater.
Abi Rhoades, Violin
Alejos Anaya, Cello
Alejos Anaya is a Lubbock native, graduating from Lubbock HS in 1996, and from Texas Tech in 2003, with a degree in Music Education. He is currently the Orchestra Director at Lubbock HS, where he has been since 2008. In addition to his teaching role at LHS, Alejos is honored to be able to serve the community in so many other ways; he is a cellist with the Lubbock and Big Spring Symphonies who perform regularly all over the region, as well as serving as the director of the Lubbock Youth Symphony, the co-director of the Lubbock Civic Orchestra, and also a cellist and conductor with Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. Alejos regularly clinics area groups and teaches a strings camp in Alaska most summers.
Briana Dunn, Flute
Briana Lyn Dunn comes from a musical family in Lake Jackson, Texas. She studied piano with her grandmother Katie Hunt, and flute with her mother, Audry Dunn. Briana holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Texas State University, a Master of Music in Flute Performance, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Tech University. Between degrees, she worked as the Music Director at Windcrest United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Tx, where she performed throughout the city and had a thriving private studio. Briana now has a private studio of flute and piano students, teaches flute in Frenship ISD, performs with the Lubbock Concert Band, sings and plays piano with local community jazz bands, and has been a member of the First United Methodist Chancel Choir since 2016.
Elizabeth Johnson-Black, Clarinet
Elizabeth Johnson-Black is a West Texas native graduating from Levelland High School in 1990 and Texas Tech University in 1995 with a double major in flute performance and music education. She credits her parents' early influence and that of Margaret Redcay, former flute professor at Texas Tech, for inspiring her love of music education. She is currently in her 28th year as a band director and has taught in East Texas, Houston, Levelland ISD and Lubbock-Cooper ISD, where she is currently in her 5th year as head band director at Laura Bush Middle School. Organizations that she has performed with include Lubbock Community Theater, Texas Tech University, Lubbock Christian University, South Plains College, Moonlight Musicals, and numerous area high schools. She has performed as a flutist in many professional, community and church orchestras in the Lubbock and Houston area including the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and the Big Spring Symphony Orchestra.
Hannah Lee, Pianist
Hannah Lee is a distinguished pianist and organist with extensive international performance experience, including at the Lincoln Center in New York. She holds a Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano from Kyungwon University in South Korea and has taught at Myongji University in Seoul. Hannah has worked as a pianist with the Korean Chamber Opera and CTS TV Opera, where she recorded broadcasts and performed in numerous grand opera productions. After relocating to the United States, she served as a professional pianist at First United Methodist Church and currently serves as the organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lubbock, Texas. Additionally, she performs with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and collaborates with Cooper ISD, Frenship ISD, Lubbock Christian University, and Texas Tech University.
